33º Digital Business Congress APDC

2022 Edition

The 31st edition of the Digital Business Congress was held under the motto “Tech and Economics: the way forward” The event was again held in a hybrid format, from Lisbon and online, and counted with the participation of many national and international speakers. Professor Paulo Portas was the President of the Congress, which was once again held under the High patronage of the Presidency of the Republic due to its importance for the economy and the country.

LIVE TALKS FROM THE CONGRESS

As part of the Congress, a new model of initiatives was launched, the Live Talks: short conversations between technology executives to reflect and exchange ideas. This is an exclusive format for the annual sponsors, where leaders of the most relevant technology companies spoke with a guest/client about current topics. Devoteam, Accenture, Deloitte, Minsait, DXC and Inetum responded to the challenge, inviting, respectively, Auchan Retail, EDP, IP Telecom, João Portugal Ramos Vinhos, Euronext Lisbon and Transtejo Soflusa.

NEW HONORARY MEMBERS

Maria Manuel Leitão Marques and Luís Marques Mendes, former presidents of the APDC Congress, were honored in the scope of #DBC2022. They are now Honorary Associates, for their relevant contribution to the Association in the dissemination and development of ICT.

WINNERS OF ONLINE PRIZES

Once again we had many Photographers, Movie Directors, Evaluators, Populars and Travelers during the two days of the Congress. The bet on GAMIFICATION was a success and interactions multiplied, in a close fight for the prizes at stake. In the end, the winners were André Pantaleão, Bárbara Rosa, David Pinto, Dany Nogueira, Nelson Lourenço, António Nogueira and João Marques Pereira.

FUTURE CITIES AND TERRITORIES AWARD

As part of the #DBC2022, the winners of the Cities and Territories of the Future Award were announced, an APDC initiative to recognize pioneering projects and ideas and strategies that make cities more livable, sustainable and economically viable. By category, the winning projects were: Health and Wellness – Hortee by Fhlud; honorable mention BALCÃO SNS 24; Equality and Inclusion – Digital Citizenship Center; honorable mention Projeto Linhó Circular; Qualifications – RECODE Platform; Mobility and Logistics – Letzgo Travel; honorable mention App CycleAI; Intergenerational Collaboration – dNovo Digital Platform; Relationship with the Citizen and Participation – O Nosso Chão; Economic Development – Accelerator for the Energetic Transition of Porto (ATEP); and Circular Economy and Decarbonization – 100 ALDEIAS; honorable mention Water Wise System. Supra-Category Award: Balcão Único do Prédio (BUPi), for being a mature, highly successful and strongly implemented project.

BEST THESIS AWARDS WINNERS

The winners of the 2nd edition of the Best Thesis Award, which distinguishes the best master’s dissertations in ICT, were also announced at the Congress. In the IT category, Miguel Loff Barreto, from Técnico’s Integrated Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering won; in Telecommunications, Bruno Ribeiro Dias, from the Master in Computer Security at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra won; and in Media, Aisha Animashaun, from the Master in Multimedia at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, came in first place.
